Garage Door Exhaust Ports
Exhaust ports are typically used on garage doors to allow the fumes from automobiles to leave the garage, protecting the people inside. Exhaust ports are made in three thicknesses: 1/4", 2" and 3". They are made to allow for four outside diameters of exhaust hoses: 3", 4", 5" and 6". You should note that exhaust hoses tend to be measured by their inside diameter.
Exhaust ports are made both with and without locks. Locks not only help secure the exterior of your building, but they also keep the port door from rattling when the wind blows or when you open and close the garage door.
Pictured above are examples of a 3"-diameter 1/4" thick exhaust port with a lock (EXPL-3025), a 4"-diameter 2" thick exhaust port without a lock (EXE-4200), and a 6"-diameter 3" thick exhaust port with a lock (EXXXL-6300).
When ordering exhaust ports please remember to order the size that is one inch larger than your exhaust hose. For example, a 3" hose will not fit inside a 3" port because the outside diameter is about 3 1/2 inches. This will not fit in the 3" exhaust port.
